My first piece of motion art consisted of an animation many years ago, whereby I used a really basic program to make a sort of fight animation. I wish I could dig that animation back up to see what I did, but alas, it was lost when the computer messed up and we had to format (there were no types of media that we could afford, that held over 2meg files in those days). Nevertheless, my passion for creating motion art had always existed, it was something about the transistion of one state to another that I found beautiful. So theme of this page is; anything that moves!

Donnie Darko

This music video was made because I absolutely loved the film. I felt that it deserved something to be made in appreciation I guess. Anyway I used some pretty mundane clips from the film looking back at it. But this was my first video I made, so I was pretty pleased with the result. I think there was too much talking in the middle bit of the video, I should have stuck with shorter phrases.

Spark (Only about a minute long)

This was a 3D animation I made whilst at univeristy. I'd never really used 3ds max to make animations before, but had a rough idea of how to do it. All animation programs have keyframes. I think the most difficult part of this was to get the camera moving. You'll notice that most of the shots the camera is still, only at the end did I figure out how to move the camera in a panning shot. Which was kinda silly. The animation isn't great, as for the music, well I found it amusing. Yeah that's Pai.

Spiderman

My 2nd video, much better I think, in the timing with the music, just a bit jerky here and there where I've not been able to match up the film correctly with the music. I was quite happy the way this one turned out. I think the transistions with donnie came out a lot smoother than this one however.
